Summer reading list

I graduate college tomorrow, but I guess I will still try to be smart. i always need a reading list or else i will just get lazy. Below is my summer reading list; tell me if you have read any of the books and if any of them are wack and I shouldn't read them. also, the ones in bold i already own but if you have copies of any of the other books that i could get for cheap then hit me up.

gide-the immoralist
o'connor-a good man is hard to find
rorty-contingency irony solidarity
dostoevsky-brothers k
ellis-imperial bedrooms
kierkegaard-readings
bret harte-stories
wittgenstein-readings
rhys-good morning midnight
beckett-stories

melville-moby dick
heidegger-poetry language thought
wallace-brief interviews with hideous men
houellebecq-possibility of an island
wallace-consider the lobster
mann-death in venice
nabokov-pale fire
kundera-laughter and forgetting
lydia davis-stories
houellebecq-atomised

the big undertakings will be the two epic novels, Moby Dick and Brothers K, as well as the philosophy, particularly wittgenstein and heidegger.

imperial bedrooms is the new sequel to less than zero. looking forward to that.

if anyone has recommendations of beckett short stories tell me, i have them all. same with bret harte and lydia davis.

really looking forward to the houellebecq. hes a pimp.

Laughter and Forgetting will break your heart, the porn industry essay in Consider the Lobster is pure gold.

just read beckett's "stories and texts for nothing". loved getting into his diction, though it was difficult at first. it was very different-how it made me feel during and after reading it- i took it in or absorbed it in a way that i have with no other book, maybe unconsciously, because it is unlike typical sentences in short stories. slow read (for me), though a very short book (130 pages). good luck with those bookies.

every time i check out brothers karamazov i look at the daunting side and turn to something else (unfortunately this has lead to harry potter re-reads). good luck.
