war and killing nowadays (random political post)
throughout history (and prehistory?) humans have had this dynamic with war, in which we cant figure out how to win but also cut losses (casual-ties) as winners of wars
the war on terrorism is interesting because terrorists are killing a somewhat large group of people but only sporadically
the iraq war and afghanistan the u.s. doesnt want to waste too many resources and/or human lives at least not consciously
probably no more than 5000 american deaths as a result of the iraq war, i know it was up to 2 or 3 k the last time i checked, which was several years ago
of course probably 5-10 x that amount of deaths altogether in the iraq war (post 9/11, not including bush sr.'s desert storm or clinton's bombing and blockade bullshit)
but they werent americans, so it doesnt seem as bad, even though it was
domestic american issues dont concern me really as much as foreign policy crap
but to return to the idea of "war", its like humans want to find a middle ground between having a rambo-or guy fawkes-type person who just goes and kills a bunch of people and hopes he doesnt die and having a huge army of a million soldiers go trounce around (i feel napoleon kind of brought the latter into the modern world, and world war two was kind of the pinnacle of it)
its also weird that i am more interested in foreign policy but my views are very obviously euro-americana centric (i wish this wasnt the case)
the atom bomb was a big deal not because of the amount of people it killed, but because it made everybody realize that technology had gotten to the point where we could kind of erase the human element as the producer of destruction to an extent and just have humans as the effects of destruction, or something like that
kind of crazy, obviously, and kind of obvious
feel punk music and hardcore and all that is very conscious of this is many ways, but i dont know exactly how
i watched the video above while listening to bad brains and fugazi
whoever made this video was kind of fucked up, i dont get it or agree with it or both or maybe not either:
what do people think of destruction and distortion and dynamics??
i feel most people dont think about it all, the former more than the latter and the middle i dont know
i feel we are all kind of self-involved
i didnt vote
i knew i should have but i didnt sign up for an absentee ballot
i didnt really care, even though i vaguely cared
i figured obama was going to be criticized, thats what i knew the results would embody
i think i might vote in 2012
then i feel like ill be one of those fucks who only cares every 4 years
which is weird and kind of sucks
did most people vote?
i know the percent of the population that voted was much less than 2 years ago
whats the deal with local elections? why would i vote absentee in local ohio elections
probably only would have voted in the federal posts that were up
think republicans won all of those in ohio, except for random congressional districts, which sucks, because the new fox news governor guy and "senator" portman who is replacing voinovich are both fucked
theyre insane, in a bad way mostly i think, but also in a very mainstream way, which is probably why they won relatively easily
i think in 2012 it will be more balanced
kind of crazy how dennis kucinich technically lives less than 40 miles from where i grew up
hes crazy, in a good way maybe
i wonder about these things but i dont take any action most of the time

sometimes i'm afraid to think of these things.
well said
think you meant 50-100 x not 5 to 10 x probably
I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the structure of your blog?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people
could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text
for only having one or 2 images. Maybe you could
space it out better?
